Michael Collins is the Principal of D. Michael Collins Architects, a small high quality design firm. He is uniquely qualified in the field of residential design and over the past 18 years has specialized in the design of custom homes and creative family living environments. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Syracuse University and a Master of Architecture from the University of Colorado. Michael is a Registered Architect and a Licensed Construction Supervisor in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Michael began his career in 1981 as a Job Captain with Laurence L. Rubin Architects. In 1985 he accepted a position with Facilities Resources Incorporated as a Project Architect and in 1986 became an Associate Professor of Architecture at Wentworth Institute of Technology located in Boston.
Michael founded D. Michael Collins Architects in 1987 which has been located in South Natick since 1990. His work has been featured in numerous publications including Better Homes and Gardens, Home Remodeling Magazine, The Boston Globe, MetroWest Business Journal and The Robb Report. He has also been featured on several segments of Home and Garden Television.
Michael is the Vice President of the Board of Directors at Holyhood Cemetery located in West Roxbury where he also serves as the Chairman of the Cemetery Committee. He is the Chairman of the Historic District Commission in Natick. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees for the Bacon Free Library in South Natick and is currently the Chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee for the Library.
In his free time, he enjoys playing the drums, working on his 1968 Triumph TR250, skiing and boating.
